Standing Up Straight
I face the mirror everyday But I see something different today. Somehow I'm taller, pulled up proud I swear I'm seeing head and shoulders Above the crowd.
I made it through the reign of shame Through anyone that I could blame. I stood here empty, too little too late Stood for lies, lies for years But at least today I'm standing up
Straight to my mountain of fears Through my river of tears To the tower of power Here and now I'm headed Straight to my temple of true And though my vision is new You know I'm headed Straight on my way to you.
Silence is broken, I'm undone Now that I'm out of the game I found out I won. Birds off the wire, the bell has been rung We wont be letting one more hero Remain unsung.
I learned the hard way don't we all, Before the rise must come the fall. Come to me baby, I know I'm worth the wait, I've been crawling on my knees , but at least today I'm standing up (ch)
It's a long way down to the ground when you Finally, finally, know you're falling.
We always worry we're too late Cant be the last out of the gate. But now I'm learning to take the hand of fate, Finding I'm right on time for whatever's mine I'm standing up straight.
